DESCRIPTION
A SCHREUDER Micaceous Primer system will effectively protect sound wood and metal surfaces from damage resulting from harsh weather, UV and moisture infiltration. This primer, which is very heavily pigmented with minute platelets of iron, leaves a slightly textured surface and is therefore, generally not suitable for interior use. Maximum benefit of this primer is achieved when it is applied to new substrates such as fences before assembly takes place to provide total encapsulation. The pigmentation level in this unique primer is so high that it almost “crunches” when applied. To minimize texture, a Micaceous Primer system may be top coated with Oil Primer/Undercoat. After application of Primer/Undercoat, surface should be sanded with 220 paper before receiving finish coats of Hollandlac Enamel or ECO. We recommend against the use of roller or spray equipment with this primer. Stir occasionally during use.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces must be clean and dry with a moisture content less than 12%. Surfaces contaminated by oil or grease should be cleaned with a solvent such as lacquer thinner. Rust and loosely adhering particles should be removed by a wire brush or emery cloth.

APPLICATION
Tools
: Use a first quality, clean, natural bristle brush (we recommend the Omega Small Flats, S57’s or the Omega Large Full Oval S55-2; for exterior work or larger brush projects, we recommend the Omega Large Full Oval S55-2 or S55-3.). Micaceous Primer must be applied according to one of the following systems:

• 3 coats Micaceous Primer followed by 2 coats of Hollandlac Brilliant or 2 coats ECO.
• 3 coats Micaceous Primer followed by 1 coat Oil Primer/Undercoat, followed by 2 coats Hollandlac Brilliant or 2 coats ECO.

Do not sand Micaceous Primer between coats.
